NAAKIS PROTEST – ANOTHER BAD FRUIT FROM UDOM’S INSENSITIVE GOVERNMENT
Once again, the waves of time have sent the ripple effect of Udom Emmanuel’s clueless and insensitive government to the river brim, as Akwa Ibom students, under the umbrella of National Association of Akwa Ibom Students (NAAKIS) had staged a protest, demanding justice for their rights last week.
The erudite but angry mob had on Thursday, November 2, mobilized an effective Aluta movement and headed straight to the State Secretariat, bearing banners and placards with various inscriptions such as “NO NAAKIS WORLDWIDE ELECTION, NO LG ELECTION” “SACK PAUL UDOFIA” “SACK SA ON STUDENTS AFFAIRS” “PAY US OUR BURSARY” “SUPPORT NAAKIS WORLDWIDE ELECTION” “NO TO IMPERSONATION OF STUDENT LEADERS” amidst other write-ups.
What was meant to be a peaceful demonstration almost escalated to something sour when the students went haywire, spreading themselves dramatically around the secretariat premises while chanting down their grievances in the spirit of Aluta, almost disrupting the entire peace of the State’s No. 1 workplace.
It was reported that the Secretary to the State Government emerged and proceeded to address the students, but rather than discuss ways of permanently settling the scores between the Students’ and the Government, he attempted to bribe them with a sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira which the students rejected.
When will corruption end in the PDP?
